Connect Zirko to Cursor

Tell Cursor what needs doing: it looks things up in Zirko and creates drafts; it issues, sends, sends reminders or cancels only after you say yes.

Zirko itself uses no AI. You choose your assistant and pay for it with its provider.

How to connect Cursor

Once set up, it works until you disconnect it.

  1. An admin allows it

    It is off by default. An Office – Admin turns on the “Allow AI assistants” switch in the settings under “AI assistants”.

  2. Add Zirko in Cursor

    Cursor reads its connections from the file mcp.json: for one project from .cursor/mcp.json in the project folder, for all projects from ~/.cursor/mcp.json in your home folder. If the file does not exist yet, you create it. This is the entry that goes in it:

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "zirko": {
          "url": "https://app.zirko.io/api/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  3. You give your consent

    You sign in to Zirko, see what it may do and what it never does, and tap “Connect”. From then on it works with your permissions.

Cursor is a program for writing software. If files like this one are not your thing, use Claude instead — there you only enter an address, on every plan. Cursor names no plan for this; in Enterprise an admin can set which connections are allowed. According to its maker, Cursor asks your permission by default before it uses a Zirko tool. As of 11/10/2026.

The “AI assistants” setting: the “Allow AI assistants” switch is on, below it what an assistant may do and what never, and the address for your assistant to copy.

What you can say to Cursor

It has exactly your permissions and those of your package: whatever you may not see or do in Zirko, it does not see or do either.

  • Which invoices are open, and how much is that in total?
  • What was the revenue last month?
  • Create a quote for Smith.
  • Book two hours on the plumbing job for me today.
  • Tell me first what’s on the invoice.
  • Send Smith the invoice.
