Before the job you calculate with purchase price, markup and selling price. After the job Zirko sets the calculated amounts against the actual ones — per cost type. Job costing is not included in every plan; the pricing page says which.

How it looks
Five cost types, one route from cost to price
Labor, material, equipment, subcontracting and other. For each cost type you store a markup for the whole firm; an individual line may depart from it. Zirko calculates in both directions — the selling price from cost and markup, and the markup back out of a selling price you set. Labor minutes are valued through wage groups, and the application says whether a rate came from the group or was set by hand.

Contribution margin, even when it hurts
Contribution margin and margin percentage appear per line item and per document. A discount comes out of the margin, and if it turns negative it is shown as negative rather than clipped to zero. Who may see the costing is decided by the role.
Target against actual on the project
The target side is formed by eight amount-bearing document types — delivery notes, letters and correction documents stay out so nothing counts twice. Against it stand the recorded costs from supplier invoices and consumption, per cost type, with the variance and an overrun marker.
No overhead model, and you choose the target side
Zirko does not derive an hourly charge-out rate from your bookkeeping and does not spread overheads across cost centers — that is what the accountant is for. The target side does not build itself either: you decide which documents count toward this project. That is one more movement of the hand, and in return a figure that holds.
